PRIORI – the next amazing revolution in skincare

Get set to herald in the era of the SUPERCEUTICALS – the next amazing revolution in skincare – with the launch of new brand Priori bioengineered skincare onto the international market.

Cosmetics have existed since the beginning of time and are basically products that rest on the skin’s surface.
With the introduction of retinoic acid and glycolic acids/AHAs to products in the 1980s came the age of cosmeceuticals, which work with the skin’s physiology to provide visible results for ageing, pigmentation, acne and severe dryness.

While the concept of the new SUPERCEUTICALS has existed since the late 1990s, it is still being defined as our understanding of the skin’s biochemistry becomes more refined. Basically they are products that trigger a biological response in the skin – for example promoting cellular production of enzymes that inhibit collagen breakdown.

The miracle ingredient in the Priori’s new SUPERCEUTICAL is Idebenone (pronounced“eedy b’known), a new breed of antioxidant (antidote to the ageing process).
“It is quite well known that oxidative stress takes its toll on our skin,” said Joseph a Lewis II, CEO of Pharma
Cosmetix Research and the formulator of Priori. “It’s as if our skin is like a piece of metal, slowly rusting with age.
“Ontop of this, environmental factors such as UV rays, pollution, smoking and stress trigger the production of free radicals, a primary cause of ageing.
“Antioxidants are essential to minimise the free radical induced processes that result in premature ageing of the skin.”
The new product was developed following research to determine the most protective antioxidant. Five readily available antioxidants used in skin care were compared – Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Kinetin, Co-enzyme Q10and Alpha Lipoic Acid as well as newcomer Idebenone – to determine thebenefit to skin when applied topically and to further investigate its protective properties.

The substances were put through a series of laboratory tests, scored on each one and given an overall score between 1-100 relating to their individual capabilities to ward off oxidative stress. This score has been named the Environmental Protection Factor or EPF. Similar to the well know SPF associated with sun protection products the EPF provides an easy to understandantioxidant efficacy rating.

Idebenone scored the highest on protection with a total of 95 followed by Vitamin E with80, Kinetin 68, Coenzyme Q10 55, Vitamin C 52 and Lipoic Acid 41 out of100.
Interestingly, Idebenone a close relative of Co-enzyme Q10(only a smaller molecule) was shown to be a potent and protective antioxidant out performing the other test subjects in the photo-ageingresults.

The conclusion drawn from these results is two fold: Idebenone works to reduce the appearance of existing fine lines, furrows and hyperpigmentation and helps to protect the skin from subsequent damage.
“Idebenone is the most potent antioxidant that we’ve tested to date. It has out performed all the popular antioxidants on the market,”said Lewis.
